All applicants for admission must submit their completed Application form with scanned copies of official transcripts and degree certificates from universities previously attended. Those candidates who wish to apply for a scholarship or tuition support must articulate the reasons in their cover letter, and such decisions will only be made after an interview and attendance at an online or residential class.

Language requirements
The language of almost all lectures and discussion is English. For those students whose English is not fluent, they will be encouraged to make a commitment to improvement through their studies.
In order to understand knowledge in a decolonized manner, the choice of research language and methodology is critical. AUSN faculty have a high degree of diversity, being fluent in a wide range of languages, and they possess experience in conducting research ethically on every continent. Students use a wide range of languages in the conduct of their research, in order to understand more closely the actual ideas that people and communities have.
In all cases that a student has a query on the inclusion of languages other than English in their dissertation, they should consult with the director of the degree program and their supervisor, who will consider the case. Among the factors that will be considered are the benefits of the original research to readers, the availability of native speakers for examination in the dissertation review committee. These issues should be discussed in light of the literature review, and prior to the conduct of field research because most research instruments and consent forms need to be examined in both the original language and English by the AUSN Institutional Review Board (IRB).
Entrance examination policy
AUSN does not set any formal level of English competency prior to admission, however, during the interview and trial lectures applicants will be expected to speak English.
AUSN does not require examination results, such as GRE, for entry to postgraduate degrees. A high school diploma is required for entry to an undergraduate degree program.
Exceptions
In exceptional circumstances (less than 1% of cases) with extensive experience AUSN may accept applications to postgraduate degrees without a prior degree. AUSN also offers undergraduate degrees, which would be the expected route.
Transfer of Credits
American University of Sovereign Nations (AUSN) may accept transfer of credits for traditional course work successfully completed at accredited colleges or universities, in which you have earned a grade of “B” or better. For foreign universities an assessment will be determined on a case by case basis. A maximum of 9 semester hours of credit may be accepted towards a Master’s degree from an uncompleted degree at another university; and up to 30 semester hours from a completed Master’s degree course for the PhD degree (1 semester hour equals 15 actual contact hours). All transfer students are subject to the same general admission requirements and procedures as included within the academic catalog.
Prospective students applying for transfer must send the official transcripts, with relevant information on the course syllabus and lecture topics, from the other institution. Any material that can prove the equivalence of the course at the prior institution to the course should be sent. Courses transferred for one degree cannot be used again as transfer courses for another AUSN degree. Grades that you earned at other colleges and universities are considered for admission, but your cumulative grade point average is based solely upon course work taken while as a student of AUSN.
AUSN students who wish to transfer internally between different AUSN degree programs can apply for internal transfer by discussing with the Provost, Dean and Director of the relevant programs.
All questions, including requests for a person-person conversation, can be directed to provost@aussovereignnations.org Please note: We do not currently accept students for any formal degree, certificate or vocational training program from the State of Arizona, USA.
