Brief Obituary and the Dr. Endreya McCabe Scholarship for Indigenous Emancipation
Dr. Endreya M. McCabe is the first American to graduate from a MPH degree program at a university on sovereign land in the history of the United States of America. As a former Princess of the Delaware Nation, Oklahoma, she served with dignity her nation, all peoples of the United States and the World, to promote health and ethics and the pursuit of a good life for all. We lost her in September 2026.
Her final position in decades of government service to the USA was as Director of Quality and Performance Improvement, Phoenix Indian Medical Center. As AUSN Professor of Public Health Ethics and Indigenous Health, Dreya gave her time freely to assist in the life and education of over a hundred scholars from all aorund the world, and she touched everyone. After her doctorate, she served until her passing as the Secretary, AUSN Board of Governors, always protecting AUSN to fight to decolonise education and eliminate all forms of discrimination, always able to provide counsel and wisdom.
